Terms of use

1. About these terms

1.1 These terms set out how you may use the Stone & Fell website at stoneandfell.co.uk (the "website"). By using the website, you accept them. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the website.

1.2 These terms cover the website only. If you ask us to design or build anything, that work is governed by a separate written agreement between you and us. If that agreement conflicts with anything on the website or in these terms, the agreement takes priority.

1.3 Please also read our Privacy notice, which explains how we use any personal information you give us.

2. Who we are

2.1 Stone & Fell is a trading name of RLS Renovations Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 14816862, with its registered office at 14 The Nab, Mirfield, England, WF14 9QN.

2.2 In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean RLS Renovations Limited, trading as Stone & Fell, and "you" means anyone using the website.

2.3 You can contact us by emailing info@stoneandfell.co.uk.

3. Using our website

3.1 The website is free to use. We don't guarantee it will always be available or free of interruptions, and we may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it without notice.

3.2 You must not:

  • use the website in any way that breaks the law, or for any fraudulent or harmful purpose
  • send us material through the website that is offensive, misleading, or that you don't have the right to share
  • try to gain unauthorised access to the website, its server or any connected system
  • introduce viruses or other harmful code, or attack the website through a denial-of-service attack
  • copy or scrape the website's content in bulk, or use automated tools to submit enquiries

4. The information on our website

4.1 The website gives general information about our design and build services. It isn't professional advice for your property or project, and you shouldn't rely on it as such. Every building is different, so we confirm what's possible for your project only after visiting it.

4.2 Nothing on the website is an offer to provide services on particular terms. Prices, fee guides (such as "design fees usually start from") and timescales are typical figures to help you plan. They aren't quotes, and the actual figures depend on your project.

4.3 We only agree prices and timescales in writing. A written quote or contract from us is the only binding statement of what we'll do and what it costs.

4.4 Descriptions of our process, such as how we survey, design, manage a build and handle aftercare, describe how we usually work. The exact services for your project are set out in your written agreement.

4.5 Photographs, drawings and visualisations on the website illustrate our work and approach. Where a project is described, we label honestly what we did on it, for example design, planning, build, or all three.

4.6 We try to keep the website accurate and up to date, but we don't promise that all of it is complete, accurate or current at all times.

5. Enquiries and first visits

5.1 Sending an enquiry through the website doesn't create a contract between you and us, and doesn't commit either of us to anything.

5.2 We typically reply to enquiries within two working days. This is our aim, not a guarantee.

5.3 Your first visit is free and comes with no obligation. Visits are subject to availability. We normally cover Yorkshire and Cumbria and can arrange visits further afield; we'll tell you before booking if any travel cost applies outside our usual area.

5.4 Any written summary we give you after a first visit, including a rough idea of cost, is an early guide based on what we could see at the time. It isn't a quote and you can't rely on it as a fixed price.

5.5 We may decline a project, for example if we don't think we can deliver it the way you want or within your timescale. Where we can, we'll suggest another firm.

6. Design fees and drawings

6.1 Design work only starts once we've agreed a design fee with you in writing. Fee guides on the website are for information only (see 4.2).

6.2 If you go on to build with us, any design fee you've paid is credited against your build price, on the terms set out in your written agreement.

6.3 Once you've paid your design fee, you may use the drawings we prepare for you to build your project at the property they were prepared for, with us or another builder. Copyright in the drawings stays with us. Your written agreement sets out the full terms of this licence.

6.4 Planning, building control and other authority fees are separate from our fees and are payable whether or not an application succeeds. We can't guarantee the outcome of any application.

7. Reviews and testimonials

7.1 Any reviews or testimonials on the website come from real clients about work we carried out for them. We get each client's permission before publishing their words, and we don't edit reviews in a way that changes their meaning.

7.2 We don't pay for, or offer incentives for, reviews unless we say so clearly next to the review. We don't remove or hide reviews because they are negative.

7.3 If you think a review on the website is not genuine, please tell us at info@stoneandfell.co.uk and we'll look into it.

8. Intellectual property

8.1 We own, or have permission to use, all content on the website, including text, photographs, drawings, visualisations, our name and logo. These are protected by copyright, trade mark and other laws.

8.2 You may view the website, and print or download pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. You must not copy, adapt or republish any part of it for any other purpose without our written permission.

8.3 Photographs of client homes appear with the owners' permission. Please don't reuse them.

9. Links to and from our website

9.1 The website may link to other websites, such as review platforms, suppliers or planning authorities. We include them for information only. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content.

9.2 You may link to our home page, provided you do so fairly and lawfully and don't suggest any association with us or endorsement by us that doesn't exist.

10. Our responsibility to you

10.1 Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit or exclude. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.

10.2 The website is provided free of charge for general information. To the extent the law allows, we aren't responsible for any loss or damage arising from your use of the website, or from relying on its content, rather than on a written quote, contract or advice we've given you for your project.

10.3 If you use the website in the course of a business, we exclude all implied conditions, warranties and representations about the website and its content, and we won't be liable for any loss of profit, revenue, business, opportunity or goodwill, or for any indirect or consequential loss.

10.4 Our responsibilities for any design or building work are set out in the written agreement for that work, not in these terms.

11. Viruses and security

11.1 We take reasonable steps to keep the website secure, but we can't guarantee it is free from bugs or viruses. Please use your own virus protection.

11.2 Enquiry forms on the website are sent securely to our team. Please don't send bank details, passwords or other sensitive information through them.

12. Your personal information

12.1 We use any personal information you give us, for example through an enquiry form, only as described in our Privacy notice.

12.2 The website uses only the cookies described in our Privacy notice.

13. Changes to these terms

13.1 We may update these terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes to the law or to our services. The version on the website when you use it applies. Please check this page now and then.

14. Law and courts

14.1 These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.

14.2 If you're a consumer, the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, but if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring proceedings in your home courts. If you're a business, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

15. Contact us

15.1 If you have a question about the website or these terms, email info@stoneandfell.co.uk.
