Basement & spa
Waterhead
A lower-ground pool and spa excavated beneath an occupied lakeside house, with continuous movement monitoring throughout.
Underpinning ran in twenty-two sequenced pins. Total recorded movement across the fourteen-month programme stayed under 3mm, and the readings went to the owners weekly whether or not they asked.
The pool hall is finished in honed limestone with the plant concealed in a sub-floor void, so the room is silent when the pool is not in use.
Excavating beneath a house that nobody moves out of is mostly a logistics problem. Every load left the site along a single-track lane, timed around the school run.
